As we climb, the landscape is uncannie. Large rocky formations (Tors) are everywhere. I seem to remember they are something
to do with young Glacial deposits, and are common in this area.
Rabbits are fairly common hare. Went out Bunny shooting after dark, got 5... no pictures... but Nature created a sculpture
in their Memory.
This is "Rabbit Rock", and is just before the drop into the Poolburn Dam area.
Arrival. Yep, I was the last to get there after both my Brothers, Sisterinlaw, Nephew, Mum, Dad, and a couple of friends.
The room out the back is an extra Bunkroom (we needed it) the little "A" frame is the "Longdrop" (Outhouse).
There is a generator, solar cells/batterys, a coal oven with wetback and Gas for power/cooking/heat/hot water....Luxury.
This was the view from the balcony of the hut on Saturday afternoon... before the breeze got up. The clouds kinda give it
an "Oil Painting" effect.
I'm still on the Balcony, a little later in the day looking about 90 degrees to the right of the last shot with about 6x zoom
I can never take very good "People" shots, but managed to capture my little Nephew "BJ" in a couple of
candid shots. The second one with "Cuddles" the dog is focused a little wrong, but when kids do things so damn
quick, whatcha gonna do..?. Ya don't get a second chance...
My Father, 2 brothers, SisterinLaw, and myself decided to play Poker well into the wee small hours. I havn't had a hangover
for Ages...until this morning, but vaguely remember myself and Daryl (on the right) being the only 2 left, both simultaniously
getting an Ace High straight, and deciding to call it a draw and going off to the Fart Sack for some serious kip... which
I never got due to the cold, and lack of soft mattress.
There were several Marquee's set up around the lake, with Big generators, Lights, portaloos etc. Apparently there is yet
another Hollywood movie being shot here called "10000 BC". The Marquees all seemed uninhabited...musta been the
crew and casts days off or something... so I took a wander (as it's all public access land) and took a peek.
I'm guessing this is the "Makeup" tent....
Catering..? Perhaps they live on Coffee..???
Another film set Marquee for "10000 BC" across the lake (using 8x zoom), as seen from the Balcony.
Final shot of the Hut on Sunday, before I head off for the hours drive home. The sun came out for this shot, but the clouds
tell the story...
The End
